We've all been guilty of going through packets and packets of nuts on a flight, during a movie, and even on the road. From inside a cookie, to sprinkled across ice creams, nuts are everywhere! This blog will explore all the amazing ways nuts help your body function.
Pistachios
For many of us, the idea of 'good bacteria' might sound a bit funny. I mean aren't they opposites? Actually, pistachio nuts contain fiber that produces these bacteria, helping your gut health!
Fun Fact: The Pistachio Principle claims that it takes the same amount of calories to open a pistachio as it does to eat one. So, this extremely low-calorie nut is a great daytime snack!

Pecans
I'm sure you have heard this phrase before but I'll mention it again: Not all Fats are bad! This is exactly the case for pecans. The fat found in these nuts actually helps to lower cholesterol levels and blood pressure.
Most dietitians would agree that pecans are a superfood because they are loaded with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Almonds
For some reason, people love coating almonds with salt, chocolate, and even honey. With or without this extra layer, almonds are one of the healthiest things you can eat!
This nut protects what is most important - the heart. Research has shown that almonds can reduce the risk of heart disease.
Now, what works great with almonds? It would have to be raisins! Check out our handmade Crispy Winter's Morning granola down below.
Peanuts
Compared to the nuts explored above, peanuts do have relatively higher calories. But, food experts say this is still healthy because they are a source of fiber and protein.
Peanuts are also loaded with vitamins and minerals.
Peanuts work well with almost anything so you can be creative when adding them to recipes. Have you ever tried the amazing combination of peanuts and coconut?
Try out our Time for Cocoa & Coco granola with this delightful combination!
Now that we have explored some lovely nuts, it's time for you to share your thoughts! What is your all-time favorite nut?
